Stromboli


My calzone, turned into a stromboli and was a really big hit here at our house.  This could be because I haven't made anything over the last week.  I browned ground beef, combined it with cottage cheese, cheddar, and spices for the filling.  I rolled out the pizza dough to a rectangle then lengthwise stuffed the center with the meat mixture.  I cut strips on the sides, and folded them over each other....it made it looked like I actually braided it :)  I used an egg wash over the entire roll, sprinkled it with sesame seeds, then baked it in a 425 preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes.
This is really a super versatile idea.  Ham and cheese, pepperoni and marinara, etc., etc., etc.  I can stuff just about anything in this dough!
