Granny's Easy Peach Cobbler

This is the second request from the "Birthday Boy" because with his birthday.....it turns into a week/ month  celebration.  Actually it's kind of fun, we eat special foods, have a different dessert daily and all around enjoy each other's company!
My Granny made this cobbler who knows how many times in her life and you can alter the fruit to anything that is ripe and tasty.  Hope you enjoy.

Granny's Cobbler
1 pint washed fruit, sugared (1-2 tbs)
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup self rising flour
3/4 cup milk
1/2 stick butter

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt 1/2 stick butter in baking dish (8x11 or equivalent).  Mix together 1 cup sugar, 3/4 cup flour, and 3/4 cup milk.  Pour above mixture over melted butter.  Do not stir.  Add sugared fruit on top, again do not stir.  Bake for 1 hr or until browned and bubbly.

  1. Yum! I love peach cobbler. My mom made it a lot when I was growing up.

  2. Family recipes are the best. I bet that cobbler would be delicious with a scoop of ice cream. I wanted to invite you to share your cobbler at These Chicks Cooked Recipe Spotlight tomorrow (Wednesday). Have a great day :)
