Although there are probably MANY versions of this dish out there....we really like the way ours comes out consistently. There are also many ways within this dish to vary flavors. You can use different types of bacon or different flavors of barbeque sauce, but the end result is one of our family favorites. It can also be a reasonable restaurant like meal when the items purchased are on sale.
Bacon Wrapped Shrimp Kebobs
1 lb Thick Cut Bacon, Each slice cut into thirds. Usually use only half of the package.
1 lb shrimp peeled and deveined
Barbeque sauce for brushing
After peeling and deveining shrimp, season with salt and pepper. Wrap each shrimp with bacon and place on the skewer being careful not to crowd them too much. Contine until all shrimp are wrapped and skewered.
Oil grates of grill slightly, place kebobs on the grill and allow to cook for 4-5 minutes. Baste with your choice of barbeque sauce and then turn skewers over using tongs, baste again with the sauce. Allow to cook for 4-5 more minutes or until bacon is done and shrimp are pink in color.
May serve with extra barbeque sauce for dipping
NOTE: If using wooden skewers, please remember to soak them so they don't light on fire!
