Convoy of Hope

I participated by volunteering at the Convoy of Hope event today in my hometown.  I was a part of a group that provided free cholesterol and glucose screenings.  There were lots and lots of free items for everyone that was there, but the most important thing that this mission does, is to provide food for those in need.

When I arrived this morning at 6:30am, there was a line that wrapped around the entire arena.  I actually was almost late because of the traffic!  The participants received health screenings, chiropractic adjustments, mini massages, breakfast, lunch, and most importantly a box of grocery items.

As part of the health screening team, I was lucky enough to be inside in a climate controlled room.  Not all areas were so blessed.  The temperature was over 100 degrees today with probably 100% humidity.......that is dedication!

I'm sure that the hard work by everyone has made a difference in someone's life today.

  1. We had a call from our local county school system about the Convoy of Hope but it wasn't very detailed about what it was so we didn't make an effort to go... maybe next time. Ours was in Ocala Saturday morning.
