CRAZY COOKING CHALLENGE Magic Milky Way Fudge

When I opened my email for this month's Crazy Cooking Challenge, I have to say that I wasn't completely excited.  You see, fudge is not my favorite dessert and it can be pretty time consuming to make.  However.........this particular fudge is pretty yummy and simple and so NOT time consuming!  I was pleasantly surprised and even took some in to share with my co workers.  The texture is smooth and the taste is rich and creamy.
I found the original recipe over at Alli n Son where she used leftover Halloween candy to make Frankenstein's Fudge.  Of course I improvised a bit since our Halloween candy is long gone....but really, all of these ingredients are pretty much staples in my pantry, with the exception of the candy.  Wherever I hide it, they find it!
Here's what I did....

Magic Milky Way Fudge
(Formerly known as Frankenstein's Fudge)

3 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
2 cups miniature marshmallows
1 cup chopped Midnight Milky Way candy
(your favorite candy bar is always the best choice)
1/2 cup sliced almonds
(if you don't like nuts, just increase the amount of candy by 1/2 cup)
pinch of salt

  • Line a 8x8 or 9x9 square pan with parchment paper, leaving extra on all sides for "handles".
  • In a microwave safe bowl combine the chocolate chips, condensed milk, marshmallows and salt.  Microwave on high for 90 seconds.  Stir and then microwave for an additional 90 seconds.  Stir until smooth.  Stir in the chopped candy bars and almonds.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and chill for 2 hours.
  • Remove fudge from the pan using the parchment paper handles.  Cut in to bite size pieces.  Store in the refrigerator in a covered container.

Thanks for stopping by today :o)
